Holiday candle safety
If you are going to use candles during the holidays, make sure follow these precautionary guidelines:
- Place candles where they cannot be accidentally knocked down (ideally a flat and stable surface).
- Keep candles away from evergreens, papers, curtains and other combustible materials.
- Trim candle wicks before use.
- Extinguish all candles before leaving the house or going to bed.
- NEVER use lit candles on a Christmas tree.
- ALWAYS use non-flammable candleholders.
