| Fuel Reduction Around Structure | Required on new construction and development, replacement, or substantial improvement of existing structures |
| Size Of Fuel Break | 100-150 feet: A 100 ft fuel- break is required. When slope abutting any structure exceeds 20% an additional 50 ft break must be added |
| Dead Vegetation | Remove all |
| Dry Grass Maximum Height | 4 inches |
| Tree Pruning | Limbs below 8 ft are to be removed (live fruit trees are exempt) |

| Exterior Decks | Areas under porches, decks and balconies 3 ft or less above the ground shall be enclosed with 1/4" or smaller, non-combustable, corrosion-resistant metal mesh. Areas under decks, porches, ect., greater than 3 ft shall be free of combustable materials. |
| Along Driveway | Vegetation shall be cleared to a height of 13.5 ft. Two-foot strips shall line both sides of the drive; these strips shall match the characteristics of the previously mentioned fuel break/safety zone areas, provided, however, that the vegetation in these areas cannot exceed 6" in height. Driveways shall be 12 ft wide on straight sections and 14 ft wide in the curves. |
